When fighting a villain that live in different dimension or different planet, something like this can happen... You know, I think I heard about a game where the villain eating main character's world or something like that, never mind that or now, thing is, when you and bad guy live on different place, they can just easily taking your world as a hostage, like this one, the hero from one small planet is on the quest trying to kill an evil dark lord who spreading fear to all planets in their universe, see? A planetary scale conflict, when the hero facing with one of the evil general, the bad guy decided to use this plan, using hero's homeworld as hostage!

Hmmm, and they kinda have enough technology to shrink the whole planet for a good size to use as hostage too, it seems...
Basically, even if the hero can defeat this general, but if his homeworld damaged or destroyed, it not worth it! He'll have no place to return to! No home, no people, no friend and family to return to! What a cruel plan!

Not sure how our hero going to do next but he have to come up with some plan soon! He just have to do something to make this general and his homeworld stay far enough for each other, if the general have no planet in control, the hero can freely finish him out without have to worry...
But it easy said than done! Anyway! Let's hope our hero can save his own planet from this general so he can continue his journey and bring peace to his universe! Something like that! (Note : He will fail to do so)<<<What?
