This is a gift for my friend EmeraldSphynx
EmeraldSphynx, someone who I've learned to appreciate a great deal not just as an artist but as a person.
Something that drew me to her own work was, obviously, her own penchant for bedlah babes, harem girls and boys and genies, which are things that many who watch me know I adore. One element that did catch my interest, though, was her own OC Emerald, who I think is well-designed and adorable in all sorts of way. A sphynx cat belly dancer is a neat concept and I wanted to put out some tribute since she gifted me a little something a while ago...and Emerald is just cute as a button as a chibi.
The artist for this one is Lufidelis, an artist well-known for transformation sequences and their own unique style. I bought this during a special offer where they were drawing chibis and I thought immediately of Emerald. They loved her design, as it shows in the care they put behind the illustration, as I think they did a magnificent job. I highly suggest you watch them and keep an eye for when they open commissions, as they're worth it: https://www.deviantart.com/lufideli.....heet-319875381
For the tale, EmeraldSphynx gave me carte-blanche to write a little something after I've shown them the illustration. I based myself on this picture of Emerald
https://www.deviantart.com/emeralds.....ride-875898033 and on some small tidbits here and there along with this other OC of theirs https://www.deviantart.com/emeralds.....-Fox-839575222 to craft a little something. Here's hoping you'll enjoy this short little tale...which actually doesn't involve hypnosis at all (in Hypnovember, no less!)

A GEM IN THE HAREM
Emerald ever wanted to make people happy and to be noticed.
Trained in the art of dancing, of baladi by any that were generous enough to teach her, including her own mother, the sphynx cat was known to enjoy this art form with all her heart. Performing ever with a smile on her face, she was known to make people swoon but also for her watchers to be unable to not get caught up in the rhythm. Her enjoyment was infectuous, spreading to those with an ear for music and an eye for beauty as she was ever known to move from one place to another while wearing her green bedlah, taking donations whenever people were generous enough. It was frugal living, but she never went hungry for too long and had gained a small reputation...one which would prove to be her downfall.
One such person who did appreciate her dance and her presence had been a prince traveling close, carried in a palanquin by servants as they had stopped. The tiger royalty had been smitten with this feline with all smiles, fluid moves and rather curvaceous body, lithe yet not skinny as he gave her the honor to be a part of her harem...which was another way to say that he owned her now. Given gems, pretty clothes and all sorts of luxury upon her arrival in the harem, Emerald wasn't quite sure if this was the right kind of development, yet was caught in the razzle-dazzle at first, believing she had it made. To be fed, to have shelter, certainty and to be prized ought to be something anyone should want...But soon she experienced the limits of this gilded cage as she was not allowed to leave. She was a gem within the treasure chest of the prince's harem, an emerald lodged within a crown with no say in her future or her wants as she saw the terrible prices for all of this: her freedom and her happiness.
She was made to perform for the prince, who wanted to be the sole person to be able to see her beauty and to gaze upon that talent she possessed. Occasionally she did dance in front of guests who had the privilege of seeing her, but it was not her artistry that was particularly showcased but rather how rare and precious she was. She could have botched her dance that none would ever know and this saddened her a great deal. Very few among the harem seemed to possess much ion anymore, pretty women with some of them growing complacent and fat, yet dressed in silk and satin all the same. There were no dreams here, no love as she had been turned into something she was not: an object.
She danced on her own, a vestige of past times as Emerald tried not to despair, to fool herself into thinking that this had been the right decision, but her heart was not in it. Her years of training, of lessons and joy were to be wasted upon people who did not look correctly at what made her dance so sublime, seeing the flesh when they should have seen the soul. She was but a pale copy, indeed a gem that needed only to sparkle and show opulence instead of being precious and rare, to awe. In a sea of such commodities, she would turn out like the others and that frightened her.
“You should not look so glum, precious one,” a voice came, a girl that was secluded from the rest by design as she seemed to live in her own corner, to never mesh with the others which caused her to be shunned. This was Luna, a vixen with a certain glamorous and mischievous streak to herself, clad in crimson which suited her light brown fur as she approached Emerald, her smile hinting either at sympathy or mockery, the sphynx cat unable to perceive which was the truth. “You have far too much talent to rot inside this prison of riches and mean wretches. I can see the light of hope flickering down and that won't do.”
“I...I just...I just don't know what to do,” Emerald said, herself lost though for once someone came to her and asked her about her feelings in a way that wasn't the start of self-centered conversation, which wasn't actually per protocol but genuine...or so she hoped. The fact that this girl did not say anything suggested that this was sincere as Emerald approached, lowering her voice as if she feared to be heard from undesirable company...or by those who were considered her rivals for the prince's affection. “The prince told me that he'd give me the honor of finally going to perform my duty as a member of his harem and I'm...I'm scared. I...I don't want to but it feels like I...I have to do it...that I don't have a choice.”
“How foolish of them to pluck a flower out of her environment and not give them what it needs in order to properly thrive and bloom. I seeing you from the window of my own private room, when I was deemed to be his favorite...how magnificent you looked, how splendid...and now they're about to sully you utterly,” the vixen said, showing sympathy and comion as she then got closer to Emerald, hugging her as the sphynx cat began to cry in earnest, her pent-up emotions escaping from her. “Allow me to be your friend. I am Luna and I would like to be further acquainted with you...if you'd like.”
A few sobs more, non-elegant yet definitely needed as Emerald then nodded, finally seeing kindness instead of gossip, rumours and nasty comments from the other girls. “I'm...I'm Emerald. It's very nice to meet you, Luna,” the emotional though slightly happier feline said as she began to spend more time with Luna, exchanging stories as they even began to dance together, Luna actually being excellent though not seeing any reason to exert any effort...until now that is. The both of them became fast friends, confiding to the other and being sincere, open-minded and genuine. It was the happiest she had ever been but it was not to last as Emerald was called to the side of the prince...but this time given an outfit that spoke eloquently of what he'd expect out of her given how little there was to wear. She gulped yet knew that refusal would land her in pain, anguish and perhaps worse as she wore the humiliating getup and then got to his quarters where the tall and muscular prince awaited.
“How kind of you to come to me, my little gem,” the tiger prince stated, a self-proclaimed warrior with muscles yet no scars, the kind of veteran that let soldiers fight his battles yet permitted himself to claim glory still. He was taller and larger than Emerald as she was nervous, aware that she'd sacrifice her own innocence right here and now to this entitled and sad excuse for royalty as he approached her, one hand on her cheek as he violated her private space, showing just how much he thought of her as an object. “Do not disappoint me tonight, my dear...and I'll move you to quarters much close to mine~”
She wanted to slap his hand away, to go away running, to curse at him for ruining her life and yet before she could do any of those things someone went on to crash a large vase behind the prince's head, knocking him out. Shocked at this sudden development, Emerald witnessed that Luna, the one who did have quarters closer to the prince's, had sneaked inside and saved her from this terrible situation as she realized what she had done, began to panic for a moment as Emerald ed her, only for the vixen to catch her breath and then steel her nerves.
“I will not let you suffer his touch and his pretended kindness,” Luna said, regaining her composure and showing a strength that Emerald could only be in awe of as the vixen was wearing a simple yet elegant red bedlah as she then gave a similar outfit for Emerald, green in color. “Let's get you in your proper clothes and then let's leave. We won't spend one more second inside this terrible place.”
It was scary, Emerald hesitating greatly as she knew that they'd be punished if they were caught...and Luna would get the worst of it. Someone like her harming the prince would result in her being either beaten to a pulp...or downright killed. She was afraid, but then she ed how Luna had been the one to bring joy back in her life and she did not want to be scared anymore, to be seen as worthless. She wanted to live, wanted to actually be happy through her own merits and own criteria as Luna extended a hand to Emerald and the sphynx cat took it. She would not let any harm come to this wonderful person, her most prized friend and ally in those tough times. Slipping into her clothes and creating a rope out of the bedsheets and linens of the prince, both harem girls vanished into the night and away from the city, turning into what they always wanted to be: dancers.
And this was how their eventful life full of adventure began, one that would make them get much, much closer eventually...
